James was born in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. He lives in St. Aidan's Villas, in the centre of Enniscorthy Town. He is the eldest of a family of 4. He is the son of John Browne TD from Marshalstown and Judy Doyle from Fr. Cullen's Tce, Enniscorthy Town He was educated locally at St. Mary's CBS, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford; He attended college at Waterford IT; UCC and the King's Inns. He is a practising Barrister and holds the following qualifications BL, BALB, LLB, LLM, Dip. Gov., Dip. EU Law. He formerly played for Marshalstown GAA Club and Moyne Rangers soccer club.
Before qualifying as a Barrister James studied Hotel and Catering Studies and he worked in various roles in bars and Hotels from the age of 15 until qualifying as a Barrister. He has also worked in factories in Germany and on construction sites in Chicago.
James is a former secretary of the Donogh O'Malley Cumann in UCC. He was the youngest member of Enniscorthy Town Council when elected in 2009 on the first count. He subsequently topped the poll and was elected on the first count in the 2014 County Council elections gaining almost 2000 votes. He is a former Vice-Chair of Enniscorthy Town council and a former Vice President of the AMAI. He currently sits on the HSE Forum South, is the Enniscorthy representative on the AILG and Wexford County Council's representative on IPB. He is also a Director of Enniscorthy Atheneum Limited, a company limited by guarantee with charitable status and which is undertaking a €1 million restoration project of the Enniscorthy Atheneum and a Director of the National 1798 Historical Centre, a company limited by guarantee. This company runs the 1798 Centre which is a historical centre charting the rebellion of 1798 in Ireland.

I am running for election because I believe government should work for you. I believe that my experience, youthful energy and work ethic places me in a strong position to provide new leadership. If elected I will work for all of the people all of the time and not just at election time. I urge you to vote for change, for a new voice and to make a difference.
